Profile - Robert Dobinson
I have supported leaders in order to improve school performance in a number of areas and contexts.
I have collaborated with and advised Area Advisors on the introduction of LaL at my current school. This new system has been introduced to ease the transition to 9-1 GCSEs by creating in effect a single key stage running through the school. This new system will allow each area to track student progress across the school; it will also allow each student to clearly define their own progress.
I have recently worked with the Castle View School History Department to moderate and develop practice in relation to Controlled Assessments. At the Belfairs Academy in my role as RSL, I worked constantly with Subject and College Leaders in order to ensure Student Progress. This involved developing support programmes for various cohorts of students, supporting T&L and developing assessment across the curriculum.
As Area Advisors for the Humanities at my current school, I have worked with the SMG and EBacc management groups in order to develop outcomes for students across the school. Within my own area, I worked in collaboration with the Deputy Headteacher and three subject leaders in order to develop systems to monitor and impact on student progress within the Humanities subjects. This has led to solid improvement in student performance. In 2012 results for History and Geography were 53% and 47% A*-C respectively, by 2015 these results were both 70%+ with far larger cohorts of students as a result of EBacc.
Currently in charge of Intervention in the school and have particular knowledge and experience of working with disadvantaged students.
