Profile - Nicola Barrett
I am an experienced primary school teacher with a passion for the Early Years. I have spent the majority of my career teaching the youngest children in school and am currently the EYFS lead at my current school where I also oversee the school nursery. Transition arrangements, outdoor provision, phonics and promoting a love of reading and writing are a few of the areas which I feel particularly passionate about.
During the last few years I have offered support to other Early Years practitioners through organising and delivering regular cluster meetings; arranging bespoke training; sharing current research and providing tours of our EYFS unit. I have carried out action research projects which have helped to shape my own practice. I pride myself on being up-to-date with current government legislation and initiatives relating to Early Years. I am an active member of the ever-growing Facebook group, ‘Keeping Early Years Unique’ and have been invited to speak at their London conference in July 2018.
