Profile - Lauren Goodwin
I have been at my current school for 9 years. I was whole-school Literacy Coordinator from 2012-15, ensuring our school employed a range of strategies to meet the Ofsted framework at that time.
Since 2014, I have worked as a Learning Coordinator (head of year) across the range of year groups. My role is to monitor progress, behaviour, attendance and well-being for the 350 students in the year group. I manage a team of tutors, and work alongside an Assistant Head of Year and a Student Support Officer.
I have worked with staff in other schools to share good practice for both literacy and the pastoral role. I have also mentored staff on ITT programmes and NQTs. I have completed the Outstanding Teacher Programme, and middle leaders Learning to Lead Programme. I am part of the Healthy Schools Pastoral Network who meet regularly to discuss available support for students, and current guidance.
Recently, I have been working as an Associate Assistant Headteacher to develop our PSHE provision, and ensure that students' Personal Development is at the forefront of everything we do.
I feel that both the pastoral and curriculum aspects are vital in ensuring positive outcomes and they should work hand in hand, something I try to encompass in any training I deliver.
