Profile - Debbie Marlow

I am the English lead at a large primary school and also KS1 phase leader.  I worked in years 5 and 6 for a number of years so have experience across both KS1 and KS2 and took part in a KS2/KS3 project to improve transition into year 7.  I have implemented a number of successful strategies to improve outcomes in reading across my primary school.  I have also worked as part of a small team to improve reading outcomes across our Multi-Academy Trust. 

I took part in a DfE funded research project to improve Boys’ Reading Comprehension which included training and support and led to a number of new strategies being implemented in my school. I regularly deliver CPD to staff in all aspects of English teaching and have mentored trainee teachers as well as provided support and coaching to NQTS and more experienced teachers in all areas of the English curriculum.  I recently took part in a peer review at a local primary school, which included data analysis, lesson observations across the school in a range of subjects, and giving feedback to individual teachers and SLT.
