One-day certificated Cover Supervisor Training - Friday 5th July 2019 at The Appleton School
The Cover Supervisor role is complex in aiming to support pupils, teachers, the school and the curriculum. This course will explore the characteristics of a typical cover lesson including cover lesson planning sheets, feedback sheets, e-mails and resource requirements. It will also include child protection issues and safeguarding in school.
The course aims to deliver the following learning outcomes:
- Develop awareness of the cover supervisor role
- Understand their role within the school
- Develop behaviour management strategies to support their role
In addition, there will be a questions and answer session with an experienced Cover Supervisor and a session to develop positive approaches to behaviour management. Certificates will be issued on completion of the course.
This course is only suitable for secondary phase.
