SEND Provision Reviews to develop strategic capacity building in settings - Training the Lead Reviewer

The Benfleet Teaching School Alliance is delighted to offer schools the opportunity to participate in a one-day "Training the Lead Reviewer" course by Anita Devi to enable school leaders/SENCOs to undertake their own annual reviews and build capacity to enhance provision and reduce costs!

COURSE STRUCTURE

This training is offered as a one-day programme on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 detailing how school leaders/SENCOs can undertake their own reviews. The approach will:

  • Build capacity
  • Increase responsiveness
  • Help to reduce costs and paperwork
  • Lead to effective day-to-day practice and provision in settings

A robust Provision Review spotlights four variables:

  • Full breadth and depth of provision available
  • Quality of provision
  • Impact of provision
  • Cost of provision

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT BOTH SENCOs AND SENIOR LEADERS FROM DELEGATE SCHOOLS ATTEND THIS ONE-DAY COURSE TO ENABLE SENIOR LEADERS TO SHADOW THE PROCESS AND EMBED PRINCIPLES WITHIN THEIR SCHOOL.

Provision Reviews are a strategic, face-to-face, integrated and locally developed approach to enhancing SEND provision and interfaces with the school improvement cycle to provide all stakeholders with relevant data about:

  • what the setting offers and how effective it is
  • where there are gaps in provision
  • analysis of cost and impact for individual children as well as groups of learners

COURSE OUTCOMES

This course provides an agreed and consistent expectation of teaching provision, approach and environment across the setting that meets individual needs. Once observed and trained, senior leaders/SENCOs can lead annual reviews within their school.

THE COURSE ALSO INCLUDES FULL MATERIALS TO DELIVER YOUR OWN REVIEW + A FREE 30 DAY SEND ADMIN SOFTWARE TRIAL!

Previous feedback from the "Training the Lead Reviewer" course includes:

"The day was useful to learn about the process and how it can impact on everyone's perception of SEND and QFT"  - SENCO
"A step by step strategic approach for putting all our provision into perspective, ensuring consistency and everyone taking responsibility for SEND" - G. Phillips, DHT

This programme is suitable for Early Years to Further Education phases.

TO BOOK A PLACE ON THIS PROGRAMME, PLEASE ADD ONE DELEGATE ONLY TO THE CART ABOVE.

THE PRICE OF £150 IS APPLICABLE WHETHER SCHOOLS SEND BOTH A SENCO AND SLT MEMBER OR A SENCO ONLY FROM EACH SCHOOL BUT REGISTERING FOR TWO PLACES WILL DOUBLE THE COURSE PRICE.
