FREE PREVENT Training for Safeguarding Leads by our Regional Coordinator(ID 565)

The Benfleet Teaching School Alliance are pleased to offer all safeguarding officers/leads within schools the opportunity to attend free PREVENT training delivered by our Regional Coordinator.

Mr Alamgir Sheriyar will be addressing current PREVENT strategies at The Appleton School on Monday 27th November. Mr Sheriyar is the London and Eastern Regional PREVENT Coordinator and able to provide details of training courses/workshops related to Prevent and links to relevant stakeholders in each region including the local authority. He has a background in police and active anti-terrorism work so his knowledge of the subject is both current and extensive.

Alamgir Sheriyar was also corresponding author of "Addressing Radicalisation into the Classroom - A new approach to Teacher and Pupil Learning" by Dr. Jane Reeves.  

This training supports the safeguarding duty stating that all staff and volunteers have a duty to demonstrate and help develop values which underpin an awareness of social and moral responsibility in modern Britain. 

this training is suitable for secondary phase only and especially geared towards KS4 and KS5.
