Applying To BTSA For A Teacher Training Place

Your next steps - in no particular order:

  • Attend one of the local recruitment events to find out more about the programme and speak to others who have completed the programme or are currently involved.
  • Review your qualifications to check you meet the requirements.
  • Search for the relevant ITT course. If you decide that you would like to train with the Benfleet TSA, search under The Benfleet Teaching School Alliance. These can be found on -  Teacher Training - Apply 1 for 2018 (this is expected to open on 26th October 2017). Search for training programmes 2018 under The Benfleet Teaching School Alliance and the available programmes will  be displayed.
  • Complete your UCAS application form ensuring that your references complete the relevant sections as the form does not get sent until they are completed.
  • Book your school experience/voluntary placement with one of your partnership schools (This can be arranged as part of a conditional offer for suitable candidates - do not let a lack of school experience prevent you from submitting an application as school experience can be completed during the application process).
  • Look at the skills tests and begin practising for both Maths & Literacy as soon as you can. If you require additional help (quite common in Maths) please contact as it may be possible to arrange assistance with this.
  • We like to make the majority of our appointments prior to Christmas so please don't wait!
