Benfleet Teaching School Alliance are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity to become a Specialist Leader in Education (SLE).

You do not need to be in an outstanding school or a school that is part of a teaching school alliance to become a specialist leader of education but  you do need to have been in a leadership role for at least two years. Your headteacher will be asked to confirm that you are in an appropriate role.  You can apply from any type or phase of school.

You must apply through a teaching school alliance that is recruiting in this application round. Successful applicants must have at least one specialism from the National College for Teaching and Leadership areas of expertise, which are based on the 4 areas of focus for Ofsted – Leadership & Management, Pupil Achievement, Quality of Teaching and Behaviour & Safety.

Benfleet Teaching School Alliance have identified the following priorities within our area and will be recruiting according to these needs but these are not definitive:

Special Educational Needs
Initial Teacher Training & NQT Development
Behaviour & Discipline
